This past month, I wrestled with the heavy feeling that God had forgotten me. The enemy whispered lies, tempting me to believe that God’s presence was distant and His promises, forgotten. But even in my lament, God was near, orchestrating a journey that would deepen my faith.
One evening, I felt a strong prompting to study the word remember. Intrigued, I explored its meaning: to bring to mind, to act upon, to fulfill a promise. In Scripture, remembering often signifies God's intentional acts of faithfulness toward His people.
The next morning, I opened my Bible to Genesis 8:1: “But God remembered Noah…” Tears welled up in my eyes. The floodwaters had isolated Noah, yet God remembered him. In that moment, I knew God was speaking to me, assuring me that I was not forgotten.
Later, a woman prophesied over me, boldly declaring that “The Lord has not forgotten you.” Her words confirmed what God was already whispering to my heart.
Encouragement for YouIf you feel forgotten by God, take heart—you are not alone. David cried out in Psalm 13:1, “How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?” Yet David’s lament transitioned to trust: “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation” (Psalm 13:5).
God’s remembrance is not a mere recollection; it is action. He remembers His covenant, His promises, and His people. Just as He remembered Noah, Rachel, and Israel, He remembers you.
Take time to study and reflect on what it means to be remembered by God. Let His Word remind you that His love is steadfast and His presence unshakable.
